PawnShop presents a site-specific installation by Cologne based Gereon Krebber.
Currently in Los Angeles, Krebber has dug up the gallery floor in the shape of a giant anus for his US debut.

The invitation from the smallest space on the west coast to one of Europe’s biggest young sculptors is a pertinent introduction to the sculpture of Gereon Krebber. The monumental fragility and mock heroism of Krebber’s sculptures is betrayed by documentation that displays clean, shiny, solid surfaces. Standing in front of each work, the physical experience of the self to the materials becomes consuming: Jello, plastic wrap, toilet paper, tin foil, balloons and tape.

Krebber graduated from with an MFA from the Royal College of Art, London in
2002. Solo exhibitions include Kunstverein Leverkusen, Kunstmuseum
Stuttgart, Kunsthaus Essen, Fuhrwerkswaage Kunstraum and Kunsthalle
Wilhelmshaven, all in Germany, Jarmuschek&Partner in Berlin, Galerie
Christian Lethert in Cologne and PawnShop in Los Angeles. Group
exhibitions include Kunstalle Dusseldorf and Kunstalle Recklinghausen in
Germany.

Gereon Krebber is exhibited concurrently with the Video Library (on show in the east gallery) screening the permanent collection of video works alongside each exhibition in the main gallery.
