Solo Solo, curated by Jenée Misraje, London U.K.
One invited curator selects a singlular artwork to constitute the entire exhibition.
Currently based in Los Angeles and is on the curatorial staff at
the Hammer Museum as exhibition coordinator.
In 2003, Misraje co-curated The End of the End of the Line at The Soap
Factory, Minneapolis, with Joseph del Pesco and in 2004, Art and The Afterall
Effect at Playspace Gallery, San Francisco with Meredith Goldsmith.
Misraje has managed numerous land and site-related works, including San Francisco-based New Langton Arts Terrain Terroir and projects by artists Christoph Büchel, Edgar Arceneaux, and Charles Gaines. She has contributed to several publications including X-TRA Contemporary Art Quarterly, ArtLies, and has contributed essays to the exhibition catalogues for Downtime: Constructing Leisure, Modern and Contemporary: Lannan Collection at The Art Institute of Chicago and Bill Viola: Stations. She currently serves on several advisory boards, including YARD magazine, 12 Duffield: The Glen Seator Foundation, and greenmuseum.org.
Forthcoming projects include the Fellows of Contemporary Art’s Curatorial Laboratory project for which she will curate an exhibition of the work of Erlea Maneros and Solo Solo in London.
